GENEALOGY INTEREST GROUPS

Genealogy Interest Groups are society members who come together with a common interest. There are nationality groups - they share information and research tips and study together to find their ancestors.  In addition, there are other groups that focus on a specific topic. Society membership is required for continued attendance but visitors are always welcome.

The groups meet as follows:

DNA GIG led by Janet Hunter, meets the third Thursday from 2 - 3:30

FamilySearch GIG led by Miles Meyer, meets on the second Thursday at 4:30

Irish GIG led by Colleen Butler, meets on the first Tuesday from 2 - 4

Scandinavian GIG led by Diane Macgowan, meets on the first Monday at 10:30 am

Scottish GIG led by Roy Thompson, meets on the third Monday at 10:30 am

Most GIGs currently meet virtually via Zoom.  This is subject to change so check IRGS.org for the most current information.  Announcements are also made on our Facebook page.  Requests for additional information can be directed to info@irgs.org
