Special Program Available

The Postcard Marketing Committee has prepared a presentation based on the Postcard History Book on Indian River County. The presentation consists of slides of selected postcards and commentary on the stories behind the cards or “the rest of the story”. The presentation can be tailored for time (45 minutes or more) and subject. Special programs have been given in Roseland and Sebastian, to the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Sons of the American Revolution and Rotary Clubs among others. Sept 11th - Ann Staley.  Topic: Resources frequently overlooked.  Theme: A favorite old family photograph

Oct 9th - Marg Putzke.  Topic: A program on new relatives in the old world, her research this summer in Europe.  How to prepare for such a research trip, what to do when you are there and results obtained.  Theme: bring an Old World heirloom.


Nov 13th - Tony Young - “The Battle at Gettysburg”   Theme: Bring a Civil War artifact.

Feb 12th - Barbara Gathers - Topic: A program on the Underground Railroad - this was presented at Tri County and was well received.  Theme: Bring an old letter from a family member.

Mar 11th - Jim Lacey - Topic: Jim will tell about his personal journey in writing his family history based novel: La Scrittore, THE WRITER.   Theme: Show off your Family Group sheet or other special print out from your favorite genealogy program.

Apr 8th - Phil Wright - Topic: "Hancock, Adams, the Salmon, and the Cow" - a story of April 19, 1775.  Theme: If you have printed up a family history, bring it to show.

2008 Annual Valentine Seminar

The 2008 Annual Valentine Seminar, featuring Stephen P. Morse of San Francisco, was held on February 9, 2008. A wonderful time was had by all, learning about the One-step Web pages.
